I saw an article in one of the papers the other day about a seven year old boy who works 98 hours a week for a pittance, sticking glitter on trinkets that get sold in pound stores on the high street, and it made my blood boil. The idea that some humans have to suffer so horribly so that others can indulge their every whim is obscene to me. So this week’s post is a rant. Don’t say you weren’t warned!

I like this. A lot. A very lot. A really big lot. It’s good stuff Robbie. Good writing and I wholeheartedly agree with its content. I’ve never been to a place like this (this place wherein I am writing) – my hotmail inbox and my faceboook is the extent of my internet world but now that I’m here in this little spot, i like it. It’s a big cyber world out there isn’t it? But I’m up for it….
I’ve got lots of questions dear Brixton Siren – hahaha. I love it Robbie, you’re clever. It’s one of the many things I like about you, haha. Okay, so my initial comment is God save the planet, never mind the queen. And is it cool to leave a poem as my extended comment? I’ll have to compose it first….I will be back. (Hopefully i will be able to get back to the same spot)

Here’s my comment about Enough Already!
Frankly Dear
We stagnate sinking when we consume.
We are contaminated and sense the gloom
and so we drink, suck weed, we sleep –
though we’re awake we’re under deep.
We are blinded when we consume
and deaf and lost in our crowded room.
Our lives are distended with hollow noise
though we don’t notice – we have our toys
made just for us. We love to buy,
to have, to own, to keep, to try.
We are inhuman when we consume
and live as parasites creating doom.
We poison our planet – her seas, her air
but frankly dear, we just don’t care.

Thanks Sandy. I love the idea of a poem as a response! Feel free to ask questions – send via email if you don’t think it’s for the blog.
